We survived January storms and rains and now we look forward to what February has in store for us.
While I can't predict the weather, I can predict exciting plans for Sussex Pathways as we enter the next stage of our housing project. We have had so much sound advice and guidance from many existing housing providers, and we cannot thank them enough. We must also give a huge thank you to Helen, our amazing volunteer, who has taken up researching and scoping for the project; her hard work has got us to where we are and will propel us forward in our plans. Although it’s still early days and much work lies ahead, watch this space for monthly project updates as we navigate our way through the unknowns.
The prison staff are tirelessly working with Recall prisoners to provide them with better support upon their release, ensuring they have a smoother transition back into society.
We are excited to collaborate with the Brighton Women's Centre to raise awareness of Restorative Justice for Women, aiming to ensure that all women are protected through a holistic approach. For more information, please email Paulal@sussexPathways.org.uk.
We also welcome our new Social Work students as they begin their 70-day placement with us. This opportunity will allow them to work one-on-one with prisoners, developing the skills, confidence, and knowledge they will carry into their future placements in the statutory sector.
For me, I need some sunshine, but while I wait I'll be working on Sussex Pathways plans for 2027 and beyond.
