Women Back to Work

Sussex Pathways Women Back to Work (WBTW) project aims to support women who have been involved in the criminal justice system (CJS), with engaging in meaningful activity, training and employment. Support is provided to clients on a 121 basis, to work together on implementing an action plan around employment, training and education (ETE) goals, to enable the client to have ownership of these with support, motivation and guidance provided.

We work closely with local ETE providers to enable us to signpost clients to specialist support around CV writing and interview skills, to ensure our clients are being exposed to the specialist support on offer via partner agencies. We work collaboratively with partners across the County to receive referrals for women who would like to engage in this new project and we form links with employers who have opportunities available.

This project aims to support clients with sustaining employment, so continued support will be offered once ETE is attained to ensure the client receives any extra help if challenges arise. Likewise, we continue communication with the ETE provider to prevent any disengagement from activity and to promote best practice working.
