We’re delighted to share another fantastic success story.
A second SP client, supported by one of our wonderful volunteers through a referral, has successfully completed a Bridging Course. This achievement has opened exciting new opportunities, as they have now been offered a place at a local Sussex university to study for a degree in Creative Writing and History.
As a prison leaver, this milestone represents not only academic success but a powerful example of positive resettlement and the opportunities that can emerge with the right support.
Alongside their studies, they have also begun volunteering at the university - building confidence, gaining valuable experience, and giving something back to their community.
Most importantly, we have seen a significant improvement in both their mental and physical wellbeing. With renewed focus and ambition, they now have a clear and positive plan for their future.
Reflecting on their journey, they shared:“Without the support of SP, I would not be where I am today. I’m incredibly grateful to the organisation.”
Their story is a reminder of the difference that support, encouragement, and belief can make - particularly for those rebuilding their lives after leaving prison.
*We would also like to recognise and thank our Volunteer Nigel and the university for offering this opportunity, demonstrating a commitment to inclusion and giving individuals a chance to realise their potential.
